As a compassionate dentist, Dr. Lipton has always been interested in helping patients, including those who are fearful and/or medically compromised, find quality dental care. In 1986 he took the position of medical director of the Special Dental Care Center at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital in Dyer, Indiana. He gained national attention for this program’s sensitive and successful approach to treating difficult patients. Dr. Lipton went on to head similar endeavors at St. Margaret Mercy Hospital in Dyer and at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart. He remains an active member of the staff at St. Margaret Mercy Hospital in both Dyer and Hammond, at the Community Hospital in Munster, and at the Heartland Memorial Hospital in Munster. He is also a dental sleep consultant for the Certified Sleep Centers of Northern Indiana. His professional activities include the presentation of a paper, “The Medically Compromised Dental Patient and General Anesthesia in the Operating Room,” to the American Association of Hospital Dentists. He has also published a paper entitled “Treatment of a Severe Drug Induced Gingival Hyperplasia on a Medically Compromised Patient.” Dr. Lipton was awarded for outstanding ability in the field of endodontics from the American Association of Endodontics. He has earned certificates from the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education and from the American Dental Association Northwestern Kellogg School of Business Executive Management Program for Dentists. He is a fellow of the American College Of Dentists, Board Certified by The American Board Of Dental Sleep Medicine, an adjunct faculty member at Indiana University School of Dentistry, Department of Restorative Dentistry, Indianapolis Indiana and a member of:
