Sleep Disorder Breathing TestimonialsOutstanding!!! Lance M. In my opinion there is no better place to receive dental services from start to finish in Northwest IN. The staff is very professional and efficient. Dr. Lipton is the ultimate professional in dentistry by far. Marron Couter Sr. I have been with my appliance for 1 month and feel a lot better. My sleep seems to be much more restful. I don’t need day time naps and the quality of sleep is so much better. My husband says I hardly snore and if I do it’s much quieter. Overall, I am very pleased with my appliance. A better alternative to a cumbersome CPAP machine. Daria Montagano
Since getting my oral appliance I have felt more rested and have actually slept through an entire night without waking. You CAN get good sleep again and there IS a good alternative to CPAP. After trying CPAP several years ago - bad experience; machine, hoses, facemask - C'mon people get real! I was very frustrated in not getting proper sleep. I contacted my sleep study Dr. and pushed for an alternative. 7 years ago, oral appliances were not where they are today. Through research, I ended up at Dr. Lipton's office. Wonderful, friendly and very knowledgeable staff. 2 sleep studies later and they verified the results. The new oral appliance fitted by Dr. Lipton is working. I do sleep through the night, no more dozing off in the early afternoon. I consider this a work in progress for me, it's only been about 5 months. A bit more weight loss and a bit more tweaking on the oral appliance and I think we will be perfect. If you are reading this, you owe it to yourself to look into this. Sincerely, My name is Patrick and I am 30 years old. I was diagnosed with Sleep Apnea about 4-5 months ago. However, my Sleep Apnea symptoms (snoring, shortness of breath, sweating, etc.) had gone on for years before I finally swallowed my pride and got myself evaluated by a Neurologist. After I was diagnosed with OSA I was given a couple options to help control my symptoms; either a CPAP machine or an oral appliance. I thought to myself, "there is no way I'm going to be a 30 year old man and sleep at night with a machine!" So, I decided to get an oral appliance custom made for me at Dr. Lipton's office. I'm here to share my story and just tell you that choosing that oral appliance from Dr. Lipton was one of the best decisions of my life! I no longer snore at night! I'm getting 7-8 hours of great sleep at night and waking up refreshed! My wife is very happy as well because I'm not keeping her up at night! Trust me the list goes on and on! So please, hear my story, swallow your pride (regardless of your age) and get your OSA taken care of now! Patrick S. Supercharged!! I had a very positive experience using my oral appliance. Not only was I getting better quality sleep, but my work performance improved. In fact, my coworkers asked if I was taking a prescription ADD supplement. Rob My oral appliance has worked superbly for three years now and I was someone who could not tolerate either C-PAP or C-FLEX. Dr. Lipton and his staff are excellent! Bruce B. I felt compelled to write to you and tell you how much you have significantly improved the quality of my sleep by providing me with a Mandibular Advancement Device (MAD). A few years ago, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and was prescribed a BiPAP machine to use at night. While this device is effective when worn, the mask and airflow is extremely uncomfortable and annoying, and as a consequence, I have not been able to use it for the duration of the night – only wearing it occasionally and for a few hours at most. It is also cumbersome and loud, making travel difficult. However, the new MAD you made for me is a completely different story. Since I have been using the device, I have returned to the days when I actually enjoyed sleeping. While before I had the device, I would wake up early in the morning with headaches, which persisted through most of the day. I now sleep a full eight hours and wake up feeling refreshed and well-rested. Also, my wife has noticed a complete absence of snoring and is not kept up by the sound of the BiPAP machine. Nor do I experience any side-effects or complications from the device, as it is completely comfortable and fits "like a glove." I write that all of your patients that are currently on a CPAP or BiPAP give the device a try. I suspect their quality of life will improve as well. Thanks so much, After three sleep studies and a CPAP machine that I could not stand to use, the dental appliance that Dr. Lipton made for me has improved my sleep to the point that I feel like a new and much healthier individual. I had lowered levels of blood oxygen that made my legs ache and extreme daytime sleepiness. My dental appliance is comfortable, does not bother me in any way, and has improved my sleep and overall health. Dr. Lipton and his staff are professional, skilled, and very friendly. I feel fortunate that I finally found the solution to my sleep problems. Sincerely, For the last few years, I have had a lot of difficulty sleeping through much of the night and felt tired in the morning and throughout the day. A sleep study showed that I had mild to moderate sleep apnea. Instead of going with the CPAP machine that I knew I would not use, I contacted Dr. Jim Lipton who fabricated a sleep appliance for me. After a few weeks of getting used to the appliance and adjustments, I have been sleeping better than I have for years and have been told that I no longer snore. I wake up feeling completely rested and have more energy and feel more alert than I have for as long as I can remember. The mouthguard has done wonders for me and is so much easier than a CPAP machine. I highly recommend this for anyone with sleep and/or snoring problems. Dr. Jim C After surgery for sleep apnea, I had a continuing problem with snoring. I was referred to Dr. Lipton to assess treatment for snoring. After being fitted for an oral appliance to wear at night, my snoring was completely fixed. My wife is very happy! Kevin B.
No CPAP for me! It has been 6 weeks since I began using an oral appliance. Little by little I can feel a difference in energy and sleep. Before all of this, I would awaken at least twice at night and then couldn’t fall back asleep. I would arise in the morning and still feel tired, sit down to read the paper and doze off, or fall asleep watching TV. I couldn’t see myself using a cumbersome CPAP, and felt anxious for a different solution. My primary care doctor suggested trying an oral appliance. At age 76, I feel so happy and energetic that I have found this solution and know it will only get better. Carole V. Awesome!! Dr. Lipton is a remarkable human being. I thank God for having Dr. Lipton cross roads with me.
I tried using a CPAP machine for six months to treat my sleeping problem, but it didn’t help me at all. Thankfully, oral appliance therapy has finally given me relief. Not only can I sleep comfortably through the night, but I also feel rested during the day, and my headaches are gone. Thanks Dr. Lipton! Beatrice O.
Diagnosis: mild obstructive sleep apnea. Recommendation: CPAP. “NOT FOR ME!” I shout (to myself). While searching the Internet for an alternative, I come across Dr. Lipton’s website. An oral appliance just might be the solution. From the very first visit, I am hooked. Dr. Lipton and his staff are professional, efficient, and accommodating. They answer questions and provide positive reinforcement. I have had my appliance for four weeks, and my husband and I couldn’t be more pleased. He’s now getting a good night’s sleep because my snoring has almost ceased. I’m super-happy because the appliance is comfortable, and I finally wake up feeling rested. During my sleep study, I found the CPAP to be cumbersome, uncomfortable, and it limited normal nighttime movement. (Also, I had dents in my face when I got up.) With the oral appliance, I follow all instructions and have no jaw or tooth pain. My bite returns to normal within 20-30 minutes after removing the appliance and doing the prescribed oral exercises. I give Dr. Lipton, his staff, and my appliance “two thumbs up!” Sharon S.
